Join Rabbi Alex Israel for three exceptional classes exploring
Leaving fast. Leaving slow 4.03
Matza must be baked in less than 18 minutes. What is the symbolism of this "fast-food"? Why does the Exodus have to be so quick? We shall discuss what happens in the life of the nation, and in our personal lives, when we make rapid transitions. Are they beneficial or harmful? From Rav Tzadok of Lublin to Rav Kook, from the Exodus to the Ethiopian Aliyah, join our journey.
The Four Sons: Understanding midrash. Understanding ourselves 11.03
This class examines the famous passage of the Four Sons and explains how it is created and that it has a very powerful Midrashic message. Moreover, we will examine texts that bring out the unique value in the evil, simple and silent children.
The "Seder" of the Seder 18.03
The Seder is a masterclass in devising the transmission of a story using a diverse range of pedagogical tools. Using Mishna, Rambam and the Haggada itself, we will show the four pedagogical methods of the Seder and leave students with a clear understanding of the architecture of the Maggid segment of the Hagaddah.
